      Schedule

      Written by honesttoddler

4:45AM Wake up. Work on my memoirs.

      5AM Alert the parental units.

5:01AM Notice that no one has come. Escalate.

5:01 30 seconds Parental whispering over whose job it is to fetch me turns into a disagreement over which is harder, working inside or outside of the home.

5:02AM Hear mommy say, “I’d like to see you try it for one day.”

5:02AM 30 seconds Hear daddy say, “I didn’t sleep last night either.”

5:03AM Daddy comes in. Don’t hide my disappointment.

5:04AM Crackers and milk in between my parents as they fade in and out of fitful sleep. Giggle.

7AM Second breakfast. Eat 2 tablespoons.

      8AM-9:50AM Tomfoolery

      9:50AM Pre-nap hysterics. Break something.

      10AM Nap

      Noon Reject lunch

      12:30PM Ask for lunch.

12:30PM 30 seconds Shame the woman for eating my lunch.

honest toddler, as a mom of a 4 month old, i relate very well to this post. except our schedule starts at 3:30am. In between fitful sleep, in the wee hours of the night, i have prepared my own love letter to you. i hope to email it to you as soon as i have had a chance to edit it for appropriateness :-s

Have you been coaching my 5 month old Daughter… I hope you at least had the courtesy to skype. I don’t want to see that phone bill if you haven’t.

Amazingness. Luckily my kids don’t start til sunrise, but they keep at it til 9 or 10. If they were up at 4:45 they’d be sent to live with wolves. Or my mom (same diff).

Thank you for writing this and letting me know that I am not alone. It’s just too bad that I took a long sip of hot coffee before reading this post.

HT I must have missed the memo, I thought the shenanigans were from 10-12 and then 8pm-4am. I have noticed things a bit tense here, will make efforts to correct. Yours – Another HT

So funny and so right on. Like the previous commenter, I want to know when the toddler years end… at some point, don’t children want to sleep in? Is that when they turn 16? Dear God, please let it be before 16. :)

I lost it at Tomfoolery and Shenanigans too. Also, Shame the woman for eating my lunch. The manipulative games these toddlers play with us! We’re laughing at this because we’re all under their authority and now full-on mental patients. Crazy laughs all day long.

Daddy and I are laughing out loud at tomfoolery and shenanigans! Also “5:01AM Notice that no one has come. Escalate.” Did you collaborate with our son on this schedule planning? We are entering the 18 month sleep regression with nothing but shenanigans from 6pm to 6am. Oh JOY!
